Upcycling Indigo Dye Day

Earth 🌎 day dyeing workshop with Indigo blu plus a free tote bag!

Duration: 4 hours

Description: This is an opportunity to learn the basics of using the ancient old technique of Indigo dyeing and the Shibori way of tying.

• Bring your creativity and have fun playing with the magical experience of dipping and dyeing in the wonderful color of indigo blue.
• Build up layers and create resist designs by learning new tying and clamping methods.
• Design your very own tote bag, bandanna and play on other fabric samples.
• Learn how you can upcyle old clothing, pillowcases etc and give them new life.

Special guest: Chewy Lue and local environmental activist will be bringing her cozy vibes and knowledge to share about the over abundance of textile waste on our planet. Check out the way she is upcyling used textiles and creating functional art. Follow her on instagram @thecozyexperience

What to bring:

• A snack and beverage.
• Up to 3 items to upcycle. All natural clean fibers only: cotton, hemp, linen, silk, and rayon. Item types for example can include Old Blouses, Jeans, Shirts, Skirts, Socks, Pillow Cases

What to wear:

• Bring an apron or wear clothing you don’t mind getting messy

What is included:

• A tote bag and sample fabric
• A Bandana
• Supply kit
• All tools necessary for the workshop

When:12 – 4 pm

Skill Levels: All Ages (Under 10 with an adult)

Tuition: $90 through registration (In Link below), with a $40 materials fee payable to the instructor on the day of event. (Accepting Venmo, Paypal, Cash App, Check, Cash)

Extra $10 supply fee for each additional piece beyond 3 items.
